Acupuncture is the practice of placing small sterile single-use needles at key points throughout the body to help regulate energy flow and send healing signals to one's own system. Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years and was developed through observation and practice.

In treatments, I choose which acupuncture points to use based on Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis, or Japanese Hara Diagnosis. I will listen to your health history and symptoms, observe your tongue and feel your pulse to get an understanding of what is going on internally. I might also palpate your abdomen to make a diagnosis and pick acupuncture points which can help to rebalance your system.

Herbal Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine herbal formulas can help relieve symptoms and change the root of the disease pattern. In herbal formulas, several herbs work together to balance each other, treat a range of conditions, and reduce others' side effects. Many herbal formulas can be taken safely short term or long term. Traditional Chinese Medicine herbal formulas have been used for thousands of years. They are written about extensively in ancient texts and are used today to treat similar conditions.

Cupping has been used all over the world in many cultures to relieve pain, to promote circulation, and decrease muscle tension. Cupping involves placing suction cups on areas of the body. It generally feels like a relaxing massage.

Nutritional Counseling

I work with patients to create diet plans to assist in treating their health conditions. I use both Traditional Chinese Medicine Nutrition and Western nutrition science to prescribe diet plans to patients.

Energy Healing

I do energy work on a case by case basis to try to resolve stubborn pains or other residual symptoms after acupuncture treatments. I also focus on energy healing when patients might be needle shy.
